Simplicity Linux 12.7 Desktop Edition Alpha Released!

Ok, so you can now download Simplicity Linux 12.7 Desktop Edition Alpha from http://sourceforge.net/projects/simplicitylinux/files/127.7alphas/SimplicityLinuxDesktopAlpha3-12.7.iso/download  For those who enjoy such things: the SHA1 is 19ede2e1e32d06b27cc9c00a266d94ac2d7120e5 and the MD5 is ca3c6ce1e0ddea7f238b466394521756.  And the ISO size is 441.8mb.  All these are provided by Sourceforge.  You can discuss this release at https://sourceforge.net/p/simplicitylinux/discussion/simplicity127/

It should be noted that this is very, very rough.  A lot of things will change between this Alpha and release, but it has software preinstalled, and you can play around with our new interface and try out the new kernel as well as the new version of Thunar we are shipping thanks to the awesome guys behind Saluki.

We know it’s a big download, but we think it’s worth it because of all the software included.  You get the full and latest version of LibreOffice, which is what takes up a lot of space.  However, we think it’s worth it because of what it provides.  We’re also using Cairo dock, because we think it looks fantastic.

There is also something else coming hopefully in the next few days, and we will be uploading Simplicity 12.7 Netbook and Media Alphas in the next few days too.

We enjoy using Simplicity Linux 12.7 Alpha, and we’re using Desktop more or less as our default distro at the moment.  We hope you enjoy it too!
